Dr. Jim Skorczewski was born and raised in New Port Richey, Florida and attended high school in Clearwater, Florida. He received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. During medical school most of his rotations involved the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and The Western Pennsylvania Allegheny Health Care System. He then proceeded to Internal Medicine residency in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania working at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital. During residency he received the distinguished Golden Pen Award for the resident who best exemplifies the ideals of professionalism, humanism, and outstanding teaching in medicine. Cardiology fellowship was completed at Largo Medical Center and Bay Pines VA Medical Center and he served as chief cardiology fellow.
Dr. Skorczewski is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. He treats all cardiovascular diseases and as an Interventional Cardiologist he provides minimally invasive treatment for coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease including diseases of the arteries and veins.
